Medical, RX, and Dental Plans

The Symbolic Group provides a wide range of health insurance benefits, including medical, dental, and prescription coverage for employees and their family's health care needs. Coverage begins the first day of the month 30 days after the date of hire for full-time employment. Employees may choose one of two plan options. A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). The company currently pays all premiums. All of The Symbolic Group Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans and benefits are paid at a higher level if an ‘in-network’ provider is used.


Simple IRA Retirement Plan

This optional tax-deferred retirement plan allows our employees to defer up to $7,000.00 of their own compensation per year. Employees may begin participating in the Simple IRA plan immediately. All eligible employees receive dollar for dollar match of their contribution up to 3% of their salary. Participating employees receive company-matching contributions with their first contribution to the plan.


Employee Stock Option Plan

The employee stock option plan allows employees of The Symbolic Group to be granted options of The Symbolic Group stock based upon compensation factors. Full time employees who average at least 40 hours per week are granted options quarterly (distributed annually). An eligible employee can begin participating on the first full quarter following their employment date of hire.


Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO) allows employees to take time off at their discretion with management approval.

Full-time employees are allowed the following time off with pay:

  • 15 days per year after 1 year of service
  • 20 days per year after 5 years of service
  • 25 days per year after 10 years of service


PTO Recapture

Once per calendar year, a full-time employee (regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week) will sell their accrued but unused Paid Time Off (PTO) days to Symbolic. The purpose of this policy is to provide employees who do not foresee the need to use all of their annual accrued PTO as time-off, to increase their cash wages.


Paid Holidays

The Symbolic Group observes nine holidays per calendar year:

New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July + 1, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day + 1, and Christmas Day + 1.


Life Insurance

The Symbolic Group provides basic term life insurance coverage for all full-time employees.


Short-Term Disability

Short-Term Disability provides a salary replacement for up to 13 weeks for medical disability. The benefit is equal to 65% of the employee's weekly salary to a maximum of $250 per week.


Long-Term Disability

Long-Term Disability provides a salary replacement for medical disability that extends beyond 13 weeks. The benefit is equal to 60% of the employee's monthly salary to a maximum of $6,000 per month.


Employee Referral

An incentive of up to $2,000 is paid for any qualified referral resulting in professional-level hire.


Education Assistance (Under Review)

The education assistance program provides 100% reimbursement up to $5,000 annually. This amount may be applied towards tuition fees as well as purchases of books and supplies.


Flexible Spending Accounts (Under Review)

Employee's voluntary contributions are deducted from the employee's paycheck on a pre-tax basis. These contributions are used to reimburse the employee for medical, dental, or prescription expenses not covered by employer-sponsored group health plans. Employees can also set up an account for dependent care costs.
